A short history about us
Slyde Ltd started life in Leicester in 1986, but our original owner Jeram Mandalia started out by having a shop called Mandalia's Denim Store on the Golden Mile in Leicester in 1975.
They were official stockists of Levi's, Wranglers, Lee Cooper, Brutus, Brittania and Falmer jeans. Back in those days a pair of Levi's set you back just £10.99.
Jeram also used to show at the indoor market at Melton Airfield and our owner Atul used to help out on a Sunday with his Dad. They still did this way into the 90's.
Jeram started to manufacture here in the UK his own line of denim after his brother in law encouraged him to manufacture jeans for his store in London. So in the 70's he started a small factory and manufactured Kerbrook Jeans.
Then in the early 1980's he moved to a bigger premises and made jeans for Bollgame and Joe Bloggs.
In the late 1990's Jeram moved to produce our own products and sell them onto the wholesalers in London and Manchester. Once the East End of London and the Manchester wholesales started to disappear we started to sell our own products to independent retailers around the World. The in-house factory which is now our stockroom closed in early 2000 and we moved it to a separate unit a short distance from our head office. We still have kept our cutting room here and then take this round to the factory when the items are made in the UK. We started to make under the Run&Fly label in 2000. The brand used to belong to a good friend of Atul's Steven Ballard and he wanted us to keep the name so then it was born and we pretty much do everything the same way today as we did then 21 years later!
